Asana, straight up

Victoria’s (she/her) classes are a mix of exploration, acceptance, and rigor. Connecting breath and body, her goal is to facilitate each student in finding the root of her or his own practice, getting what they need from every class. Centered in love, class becomes a practice of kindness and gratitude for the body and soul. Empowering others and guiding students back to the truth of their practice is her full time job.

By centering pleasure, rest, and rigorous self-study, Victoria believes that yoga can be a potent tool to dismantle harmful internalized social structures that keep us from true union. Her classes are intended to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for all people, while using the strength and power of her lineage as inspiration.

Victoria Rutledge, yoga teacher and death doula, in practice

I trust you to know your body better than I ever will.

I am invested in a liberatory future for all people. The death work, the grief, the asana, the meditation — it’s all one invitation: that you can be free, and free the people around you.

Collective liberation is lovely and easy to say. The brave part is embodying it — going against the normative grain in a world that doesn’t reward you for it. So much of how we live is just escaping our bodies, because the body holds everything we’re turning away from.

You don’t have to be a certain way to come here. Come as you are. I trust you to know about your body better than I ever will, practice at the level you need, with the props you need, at the pace that you need. I want to be here to support it.

Catch me in person.

An empowered woman practicing yoga on her own

Develop the self-trust to practice on your own.

Do you want personal guidance to develop self trust before practicing on your own? Let’s work 1:1 to give you the tools to take your practice anywhere.

Private sessions provide an opportunity to fine tune your practice with a level of attentiveness that you can’t receive when you practice online or in a group class. With my full awareness on the way your body is supporting yourself through movement, we can highlight areas of sensitivity and strength, to make sure you are treating your body in a way that is sustainable for the long term.

relationship to your practice.
